چکیده

Abstract. The dynamics of motor protein molecules that have two subunits is investigated using simple discrete stochastic models. Exact steady-state analytical expressions are obtained for velocities and dispersions for any number of intermediate states and conformations between the corresponding binding states of proteins. These models enabled a detailed description and comparison of two possible mechanisms of the motion of motor proteins along the linear tracks: the hand-over-hand mechanism when the motion of subunits alternate, and the inchworm mechanism when one subunit is always trailing another one. It is shown that particles in the hand-overhand mechanism move faster and fluctuate more than the molecules in the inchworm mechanism. The effect of external forces on dynamic properties of motor proteins is discussed. Finally, a method is proposed for distinguishing between these two mechanisms based on experimental observations.

Assessment of seed storage protein composition of six Iranian adopted soybean cultivars [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.]

Seed protein quality is an important topic in the production of soybean. The quality of soybean proteins is limited by anti-nutrient proteins and low levels of essential sulfur amino acids. In this study, protein content and solubility of six cultivars were evaluated and seed storage proteins were analyzed using SDS-PAGE and scanning densitometry. The results showed that seed storage protein ba...

Modified Couple Stress Theory for Vibration of Embedded Bioliquid-Filled Microtubules under Walking a Motor Protein Including Surface Effects

Microtubules (MTs) are fibrous and tube-like cell substructures exist in cytoplasm of cells which play a vital role in many cellular processes. Surface effects on the vibration of bioliquid MTs surrounded by cytoplasm is investigated in this study. The emphasis is placed on the effect of the motor protein motion on the MTs. The MT is modeled as an orthotropic beam and the surrounded cytoplasm i...

Biochemical and Molecular Dynamic Simulation Analysis of a Weak Coiled Coil Association between Kinesin-II Stalks

DEFINITION Kinesin-2 refers to the family of motor proteins represented by conserved, heterotrimeric kinesin-II and homodimeric Osm3/Kif17 class of motors. BACKGROUND Kinesin-II, a microtubule-based anterograde motor, is composed of three different conserved subunits, named KLP64D, KLP68D and DmKAP in Drosophila. Although previous reports indicated that coiled coil interaction between the mid...

Stable incorporation versus dynamic exchange of b subunits in a native Ca channel complex

Voltage-gated Ca channels are multi-subunit membrane proteins that transduce depolarization into cellular functions such as excitation–contraction coupling in muscle or neurotransmitter release in neurons. The auxiliary b subunits function in membrane targeting of the channel and modulation of its gating properties. However, whether b subunits can reversibly interact with, and thus differential...
